...Dominican Republic, six smartly uniformed guerrillas seized a U.S. air attaché, Lieut. Colonel Donald J. Crowley, 47, from the very polo field in Santo Domingo where the first U.S. Marines were helicoptered in during the 1965 intervention. Crowley's kidnapers threatened to kill him unless the government of President Joaquin Balaguer released 24 prisoners.
