Eighteen years ago a pompous papal delegate witnessed the laying of the cornerstone of the St. Louis Cathedral. Last week, following appropriately the brilliant pageant of the Eucharistic Congress, church princes, prelates, priests participated in the medieval liturgy of consecration.
