Nichols L. S. and Blake '93 were the hares and they started at 3.54. The hounds, about 25 in number, started five minutes later. The course was from the gymnasium up Garden Street to Brattle, through Longfellow's park up towards Porter station, around Fresh Pond up to Belmont. across to Mt. ...four, J. W. Schereschsky '95 and B. T. Fox '94 started out to lay the trail and were followed five minutes later by the pack of hounds. The course was between five and six miles and lay up Mt. Auburn street to Brattle, over the fields to Fresh Pond, up the Fitchburg Railroad tracks to Porters Station, where the men lined up and raced back to the gymnasium. The trail led through Allston, up over Corey Hill, beyond to Brookline, round Chestnut Hill reservoir, then on to Jamaica Plain Pond.
