Even if it were possible to create an exact genetic stencil of a lost pooch or kitty, that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Given that more than 5 million unwanted cats are destroyed each year, it's hard to justify spending tens of thousands of dollars to clone a new one. Why not just adopt?
