Boyden and Simonds won chiefly through their steadiness. Boyden's lobs were effective and during the first two sets both frequently passed their opponents when the latter were at the net. Boyden and Simonds easily won the first two sets. They gained their points partly by their steady play and better team-work, and partly by the wildness of their opponents. The third set was close. Today the first match of the intercollegiate cricket series takes place between Harvard and Haverford at Longwood. The game will begin at 11 a. m. and will last until about 6 p. m.
