Since the Yale team went through a stage of poor playing in which it was defeated by Tufts and Andover, it won all the games up to the Princeton series, including two games with Pennsylvania, two with Brown, and that with Holy Cross which it won for the first time in several years. In the Princeton series, however, the team was decidedly weak both at bat and in the field...
...June 20.--All the crews went out for short rows this morning in front of the quarters. The University crew did not go out again until late this afternoon when they rowed down stream as far as the Navy Yard in search of smooth water. The conditions were poor and no time was taken. The blade work, however, was good and a general improvement was noticeable. The Freshman crew went out early this afternoon but owing to the rough water good work was impossible. Later the shell was nearly swamped. All the crews have benefited by the rest on Sunday...

Early in the afternoon the Freshmen rowed two miles up stream from the Navy Yard, and for the last mile and a half were paced by the second crew which finished five lengths ahead.
