...Freshman baseball team defeated Volkmann School yesterday afternoon by a score of 20 to 10. The large score of the Freshmen was due to the poor pitching and fielding of their opponents rather than to any good work of their own. In the third inning Allyn, the Volkmann pitcher, was knocked out of the box, and Briggs, who was substituted for him, was little better. ...Freshman baseball team defeated Cambridge Latin School Saturday afternoon in a poorly played game on Soldiers Field by a score of 5 to 2. The defeat of Cambridge Latin was due to its own poor playing rather than to any good work by the Freshmen. Nash, the Cambridge Latin pitcher played a steady game, but was not properly supported.
