Last fall, Funny or Die came out with a series of literal videos - 1980s pop songs repurposed with new lyrics that gave a play-by-play narrative of their occasionally absurdist but mostly awful music videos - and I didn't laugh. (They weren't that funny.) But the literal video of Bonnie Tyler's 1983 hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart," is another thing entirely. This video is so incredible it's hard to know where to begin. (Read "Tears for Fears: The Literal Remix...

...Fergal Sharkey, CEO of U.K. Music, an organization representing the interests of the commercial music industry (and a former pop singer himself), reckons that the success of the anti-copyright movement among young voters "sends a message that we need to think about how we are approaching the issue." Mark Mulligan, an analyst at technology-research company Forrester, agrees. "The problem with looking to legislation to help meet business ends is that the results are often unfavorable to all affected business parties," he says. ...Techie language aside, that explanation is problematic. The pop-up window I saw asked, "Are you sure you want to invite all your contacts?" That warning was perfectly understandable to me, and likely to 95% of the people who got tricked. The answer is no. ...watch the sunset from the infinity pool of the isle's token nod to tourism, the Hanakee Hiva Oa Pearl Lodge, www.pearlresorts.com. I realize that I can make out the hillside Calvaire Cemetery, where Gauguin's grave site is lovingly festooned with flowers. As vivid stars begin to pop out of the sky, I think of the painter's words: "Life is hardly more than a fraction of a second. Such a little time to prepare oneself for eternity...

...After years of globe-trotting, Benny Andersson - one quarter of that legendary Swedish pop group Abba - hit on the idea of converting a 1930s Art Deco cinema, in the now fashionable district of Södermalm, into a boutique hotel. But banish all thoughts of an Abba-themed property from your mind. The group's music may enjoy continued success - most recently, their songs formed the basis of the movie smash Mamma Mia! - but at the Hotel Rival the connection is barely discernible. One of the group's albums is always among the CDs in each bedroom, and the occasional...
