According to the census, less than ten percent of journalists in the Washington daily newspapers press corps are of color. It revealed a mere portion of a national trend of racial disparities among influential newspapers, one that The Harvard Crimson follows. Officials from the U.S. military and the interim Iraqi government are playing down the significance of the intelligence estimate. "It says what we've been saying for months," a Pentagon civilian says. "There's a 1-in-3 chance of civil war."
