When my brother died in Iraq, we accepted his death with grace and reverence for his service. Sheehan's conduct is embarrassing and dishonorable. The media portray her as a hero, a David vs. a Goliath. I see a weak woman who has sacrificed her son's honor in favor of indulging her pain and furthering her own political agenda. When Sheehan accuses the President of killing her son while she gives a pass to the Iraqi insurgent who actually ambushed him, she disgraces those of us who have carried on with honor. What a shame that Sheehan has become...

Despite Carell’s top-billing, this is much more an ensemble piece. It doesn’t hurt that Rudd, Rogen—who Apatow mined from the aforementioned TV shows—and relative unknown Malco are natural comedians. During the original trial, lawyers for Pring-Wilson had sought to portray Colono’s stabbing as an act of self-defense. But an important part of that strategy—presenting the allegedly violent past histories of Colono and his cousin, who was also at the scene—was blocked by Quinlan...

...Lincolns of the A.L.P. are no mere Civil War re-enactors. They approach their work with a mixture of sacerdotal adoration, historical rigor and commercial self-interest (some impersonate Lincoln for a living, and virtually all charge several hundred dollars per gig to portray him at parades, nursing homes and museums). For the best Lincolns, bringing him to life means hours of prep; those docents in Maryland may not ask you back if you can't perform a speech Lincoln gave in the state. And then there are the costuming challenges--carefully shaving your upper lip, coloring the gray from...
