Harvard had a man advantage, which soon became doubled when Durno was pulled in favor of a sixth skater with a minute remaining. But the Crimson substitute jumped onto the ice before Durno had fully entered the bench, and the ensuing penally nullified the Harvard advantage...

Sophomore Pat Pugliese lost the first two bouts at the number three saber. His replacement for the third bout. Scott Beckett, also lost. The Crimson, therefore, did not post any victories at the number three position, losing nine bouts. If Harvard hopes to do well against Ivy competition, it will have to find at least an occasional winner for those positions...
