After considerable time spent on the explanation of new plays, Team A and Team B lined up for a period of fake scrimmage, chiefly for the benefit of the backs and ends. Early in the second period Potter succeeded in getting off a beautiful onside kick which was recovered by Rogers on Holy Cross's 15-yard line. On the next play Harvard was penalized 15 yards for a very doubtful case of hurdling. Potter then dropped back to the 40-yard line, from whree he kicked a clean drop-kick between the posts.
