...Saturday afternoon was a success in every particular. The attendance was unusually large and the enthusiasm manifested in the several events was boundless. Five new Interscholastic records were made: the 300 yards run, 250 yards hurdle, lowered by one-fifth of a second, 10-pound shot, lowered by 2ft. 4 1-2 in., running high kick, lowered by 7 1-4 in. The best record-breaking performance of the afternoon was made by W. J. Batch-elder, B. A. A. Jr., who lowered the record of 2 m. 32 2-5 sec. for the 1000 yards by three seconds...
