...Harvard for some of the stupid things we do. The Ad Board should be here to punish us for failing our classes or for violating University laws, not to arbitrarily mete out punishment like Robespierre's Committee of Public Safety. Perhaps if the "victim" of Mr. Kirtley's prank call, Room 13, had asked for Mr. Kirtley's punishment then, only then, would the punishment be justified, yet even the head of Room 13 disagreed with the turn of events...

...Administrative Board's user guide for students, "A student on probation must pay special attention to his or her conduct and coursework, since the Board will act more severely (require to withdraw) on further infractions or failures." This indicates that if I continue to freely write "Prank Files," I will be kicked out of Harvard. The Ad Board sends a letter home to your family saying that it voted to place you on disciplinary probation. Moreover, probation goes on your permanent academic record. In fact, the Ad Board members did not question the legality of my actions. ...vaguely remember hearing somewhere about "freedom of the press." The administration's actions smack of nothing less than censorship. The administration should not meddle with legal, non-academic-related conflicts, should not be able to censor what is printed on campus and should lighten up. Yes, the "Prank Files" is a sophomoric, no-brainer column that pokes fun at institutions supported by the administration, but no, the administration should not be able to overrule free speech on campus...

Yankovic and Foxworthy perform in concert as well, but the Jerky Boys (one failed movie aside) thrive only on recordings. Their one unvarying gimmick: merciless prank phone calls. On their latest album (Jerky Boys 3), they ring up pizza places and massage parlors and torment people at the other end with idiotic requests or unprompted verbal abuse. To callers responding to classified ads they've placed for power tools, the Boys babble psychotically and refuse to give any information. You know the album has gone awry when you start cheering the hang...
