Since the elimination of the Boston Arena by fire a short time ago the Charles River has become the best available skating rink for members of the University. As though cognizant of the responsibility of making good thus placed upon it, the river, aided by the present cold weather, has produced an excellent surface of smooth ice, which has brought out many skaters in the last few days...

A skater must either be burdened by carrying these cumbersome things with him or trust them to the uncertain honesty of the small boys along the banks, who may or may not be present at the time of reckoning.
