...predict college kids will study closer to home, and that families will cluster in the same area. We're already seeing similar effects from the increased price of a college education. State schools, especially the upper-tier ones, have been swamped with applications during the last decade. That's a trend that will only be enhanced by higher gas prices and more expensive plane tickets.
