...last week, to borrow an old Chicago convention phrase, the whole world was watching. As it became clear to Morris on Wednesday what the Star was planning to print, he contacted several White House aides, including press secretary Mike McCurry, who was aboard Clinton's campaign train, the 21st Century Express. McCurry urged Morris not to fill him in on details. That way, when reporters asked for confirmation, McCurry could honestly claim not to know...

There are now in print, according to Publisher's Weekly, some 450 English translations, paraphrases or retellings of all or parts of the Old and New Testaments. There is a New King James Version and a New Revised Standard Version, plus the New International Version, the New American Standard, the New American Bible, the New Jerusalem Bible, Today's English Version--also known as the Good News Bible--the Contemporary English Version and, well, the cup runneth over. Cruise, who has two adopted children with wife NICOLE KIDMAN, is suing Bunte for $60 million for quoting him in a Q.-and-A. as saying that he has a "zero sperm count." According to Cruise's publicist Pat Kingsley, "Not only is it not true, but he didn't say it." Bunte, which just lost a lawsuit to Princess Caroline, has fired its deputy editor but says...
