EDITORS DAILY CRIMSON:-In your issue of Tuesday, a communication signed by "Unfortunates in Eng. 7," complained that "the lecture devoted to Gay and Prior" was "required for the examination." It was claimed that "notice was given" that these lectures would not be required. We are sorry for the "Unfortunates," but fear that the trouble is their own misfortune. Prof. Palmer did not give notice that the two lectures which he devoted to prior and Gay would not be required for examination. He did say that no extra study of the authors in question would be required...

EDITORS DAILY CRIMSON.- Now that the examinations are over, and all is passed, except the marks, we should like to exercise our right to growl a little. In the lectures which Prof. Palmer gave in English 7, notice was given that the lecture devoted to Gay and Prior would not be required for the examination. In spite of this declaration, however, one of the required questions was upon these two authors, and another required question contained passages from these authors, which we were expected to recognize. It would seem, therefore, that "someone had blundered," or that our instructors expect...

This scheme of drawing all prominent clubs into one Association has been followed in Ontario by the Rugby clubs and much benefit has resulted from the arrangement. Healthy rivalry has been promoted, and the rules of play which prior to the formation of the Association were arbitrary and ill defined, have been taken hold of with a strong hand, altered, improved and well-defined. The Association is known as the Ontario Rugby Union, and is under the control of an executive committee. It embraces the principal Rugby clubs of the province.
