LAWRENCE, Kansas--Three University of Kansas (KU) football players received probation recently after having pleaded no contest to charges of burglary and felony theft.
Douglas County District Court Judge James Paddock found Cedric Alexander, a Chicago freshman, and Renwick Atkins, a Chicago sophomore, guilty of burglary and felony theft and sentenced them to five years probation.
The university took immediate action against the two students because of the more serious nature of their offenses. One of the two students who were expelled was selling drugs, and the other was already on probation for past offenses. Richard Conklin, a university spokesman said this week.
NEW HAVEN. Conn--A former Yale professor of Epidemology and Public Health was sentenced last week to a $10.000 fine and three years probation for his role in the alleged misuse of federal grant money at Yale during the period from 1970 to 1977.
