With the Ad Boarding, and subsequent probation, of William L. Kirtley '97 (who is no doubt a Crimson editor) for his beloved FM column, "Prank Files," all members of the press at Harvard should take notice. They, too, could be punished for what they write.
The demand comes in the wake of the Ad Board's decision to place William L. Kirtley '97 on disciplinary probation for making a prank telephone call to Room 13 as part of an article for Fifteen Minutes, a publication of the Crimson.
The student affairs committee will review a related proposal tonight that would ask the Ad Board to review its decision to put Kirtley on disciplinary probation.
"Five ounces of crack cocaine gets you five years mandatory, 25 pounds of powder cocaine and you can get probation," Jackson said. "Some drugs are protected by their status."
A "Satisfactory Academic Record" according to the Handbook for Students is "passing grades in all courses...and no more than one D in any term." A student who does not meet this standard is placed on probation.
