Student power, the full and equal participation of students in the decision-making process of their educational institution, has become a major goal of American student leaders. This concern is not a new outburst of self-importance but is rather a continuation of the concept of education illustrated by student activities supporting civil rights. Students' recent social and political involvement has altered the traditional view of education as a preparation for life -- students are now assuming a more meaningful role in society and are no longer content to live in a cocoon. ...issue raised by RUS--student representation on the Council. That matter must be taken up by the elected officers of RUS and the Board of Trustees. The Council should speed the discussion on its way; the Council's final endorsement can come later. For any participants, there is also an enormous outlay of time: CLUG (community Land Use Game), a business simulation game, has been played for as long as nine hours at a time. All these factors makes it hard to offer such a game to the public; the expense alone limits its availability to all but wealthy organizations...
