Robin A. Leonhardt '98 and Tamara V. Tai '98 have received the Laura Houghteling Fellowship, an award that commemorates Laura Houghteling '92 and her aspirations to contribute to the teaching profession. The fellowship provides Leonhardt and Tai with about $1,300 for student loan repayments.
"She showed that the management consulting profession does not have to be temporary for women who are also going to raise a family," said Kerrien L. Rollins '98. "She's definitely a role model."
Mitchell Johnson, 13, found God at a youth revival meeting last September. "He made a profession of faith and decided to accept Jesus Christ as his savior," says Christopher Perry, the youth minister at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Mitchell was new to the area, barely two years in town...
He acknowledged that very few people within the profession agree with his line of thinking, and cited an instance where several doctors attempted, unsuccessfully, to revoke his license.
"If you criticize from within the profession, the profession assaults you," he said.
