Right Reverend William Lawrence was graduated from the University in 1871. He studied for four years at the Episcopal Theological School and was ordained in 1876. For eight years he was rector of Grace Church in Lawrence. Many group classes led by upperclassmen and graduates have met weekly in dormitories and private houses for study of the Bible.
