Tobruk is a movie for the ages-the teen-ages that think of World War II as just another chapter in their high school history courses. Here it is again, kids, meticulously re-created with tanks, cannons and prop-driven airplanes, just the way it happened back in 1942 when the Allies were trying to blow up Rommel's fuel supply. The campaign in the Sahara Desert crosses a wasteland so real you could swear you were on location in California. There are suntanned battalions, a band of Italians, Allied traitors, German haters-there's everything but suspense...

...Ambassador Goldberg you stated today that countries of the world want to be left alone; people of the world want to be left alone. I would like to ask you first of all if the U.S. action in Vietnam and our policy there entail that our government attempt to prop-up regimes around the world against the internal threat of invasion? Taking the Lead. Representatives of the 61 I.C.O. member nations-both producers and consumers-met in London last week to thrash out a solution to the price problems. Because of slack demand, coffee has slipped in the past year from 4310 per Ib. to 3810. To prop the price at a more acceptable level, the I.C.O. in all probability will slash producers' export quotas to bring supply more in line with demand. In the four years since the I.C.O. was set up, such klatsches have helped stabilize the market to the benefit of growers and drinkers alike...

...undone book, badly done music, and smashingly done performances by two megatons of the U.S. musical stage, Mary Martin and Robert Preston. The Fourposter, on which this tale of a long-married, much-loving couple is based, is little more than a prop for their talents...
