Complaint has been made by the captain of the foot ball eleven, that members of the second eleven, and sometimes of the first, are not out on Jarvis Field with anything like the proper degree of promptness. Lack of practice should certainly not be a ground of excuse for any weakness in the playing, and as the afternoons are growing very short, it is to be hoped that men will do their duty and turn out on time if they expect to retain their places...

...system of indicators was only in vogue here. Such a system is in use at Yale and in many city business blocks and is of great service as a labor and time saving arrangement. If the college would only supply the basis for such an indicator, a properly numbered frame for each entry, they would last for a long time. The indicator could be in charge of the janitor, who would at the beginning of each year collect the cards of the men in each entry of the building in his charge and place them in their proper positions...

Would it, then, not be proper for the faculty to make election day a recess, that the men who are obliged to make long journeys in order to cast their votes may do so without being obliged to miss a part of their college duties? The faculty at Yale have taken this step, and have decided to release the students from the requirements of college for that day. Let it be hoped that our own authorities may see fit to follow so good an example...

...aware of the intention of certain Harvard Independents and Democrats to carry transparencies supporting their candidate in the procession of Oct. 30. Such an action in itself would certainly be most undignified, and especially so since the Harvard campaign committee is held responsible by the Republican leaders for a proper display of transparencies. If transparencies are to be carried it is best that they should not be either of a strong Democratic or Republican nature. If students will heed this suggestion they will not only contribute to the success of the college parade, but, also, greatly favor the campaign committee...
