Students for the first time will have the chance to type their examinations if the Faculty in January accepts a proposal of the Committee on Educational Policy, it was learned yesterday.
The CEP passed the proposal several weeks ago, and it will be considered by the Faculty when it meets on Jan. 8. At the same meeting, the Faculty will vote on a proposed extension of parietal hours which this week received Administrative Board approval.
In explaining the Board's decision yesterday, Dean Leighton said the proposal to extend parietal hours had "substantial but not complete agreement." He would not say who voted against the extension.
Leighton said that in none of these groups was there unanimous approval of the Council's proposal, but in each case there was "substantial" affirmative feeling.
Council observers, however, have insisted that the Administration must not be antagonistic toward the proposal, otherwise it would have been "killed" by the Masters two weeks ago, instead of being further discussed by the Committee on the Houses last week and by the Administrative Board today.
