Forty-one men reported at the first hockey practice, which was held yesterday afternoon in the basement of the Gymnasium. The forwards practiced in shooting, giving special attention to direction, and the defence practiced stopping the puck. As long as practice is held in the Gymnasium the work will be similar to that held yesterday afternoon. When the squad gets on the ice, however, short scrimmages will be held, and the coach will thus be afforded a better opportunity to judge the merits of the men. There will probably be no cut in the squad until after the Christmas recess...

Practice for the University hockey squad will begin this afternoon, probably on the handball courts in the rear of the Hemenway gymnasium. The work will be elementary, consisting in shooting for the forwards and practice in stopping the puck for the points and goalkeepers. As very few candidates have handled in their names, all men, especially Freshmen, who have played hockey, are urged to report this afternoon. If the weather permits, practice will be held on the ice, in which case a bulletin will be posted in Leavitt & Peirce's before 2 o'clock...
