...with the performance is a priority. At times, Rogers and Denike regroup at center stage to sing, smile and shout in each others' faces, only to split again and head straight for the throbbing audience. Working their way around the leading ladies, guitarist Jason Hammon and bassist Mikey Weiss pump out DHC's musical foundation along with the stationary but flailing drummer Gavin Hammon. Despite the necessity of the male instrumentalists, the dominant presence of the band is the unique female pair that keep the crowd entranced and energized with every beat and syllable...

...lawyer, and his friend Stephen Scher, a physician, were skeet shooting at Gunsmoke, a hunting camp in northeastern Pennsylvania owned by Dillon's family. According to Scher, as the two of them blasted clay pigeons, Dillon caught sight of a porcupine and, after grabbing Scher's 16-gauge Winchester pump-action shotgun, ran off after it. Scher told police that he heard a shot, ran toward it and found Dillon 250 ft. away with a fatal wound to his chest. He had apparently tripped over a shoelace and fell on the gun. The first seven songs on this disc read like a Buzz Clip line-up: "Here Comes Your Man," "Wave of Mutilation" (not the infinitely better U.K surf version featured in Christian Slater's teen romp Pump up the Volume) and many others better left unsaid. He picks only patients who are healthy enough to be on the transplant list, so that if the procedure does not work they can be put on a left-ventricular assist device, or artificial pump, until a suitable donor can be found. "We've had a 72% success rate with the procedure," says McCarthy. "If you look at all the people who die just waiting for a heart transplant, those odds are pretty good...

...brought a level of scientific professionalism to Batista's procedure. To be sure, the greatest benefit of U.S. hospitals is the state-of-the-art postoperative care. American doctors also offer a safety net for patients by placing them on a left-ventricular assist device that helps the heart pump blood into the body if the procedure fails. In addition, McCarthy has somewhat changed the procedure. Where Batista does his work on a beating heart, McCarthy stops the heart so he can make cleaner cuts (a common practice in open-heart surgery in the U.S.). Of greatest benefit is that...
