Director Andre Serban clearly deserves much of the credit for the success. A noted Romanian director, Serban has long sought to create communication that is pure theatre, Independent of language. In Sganarelle, the words become almost incidental, the actors rushing through their lines as if eager to dispense with them as quickly as possible.
