Yale, Columbia and University of Pennsylvania have promised to enter teams of riders to compete in the invitation collegiate meet to be held by the Cycling Association, June 3. ...Cycling Association has made arrangements with the Charles River Park to use its new track for the invitation college meeting to be held June 3, 1896. The secretary has lately received a letter from the University of Pennsylvania stating that they will send a team to compete in the "Quad" race. ...Harvard Cycling Association held a meeting last night to arrange for a meet in the spring. It was decided to hold it at the new track in Cambridgeport next May. There are to be five events, the quarter, half, one mile, and two miles, and a "quad" race between Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania if one can be arranged. The races will be scratch and open to college riders only. The other colleges have been written to in reference to this meet, but as yet nothing has been heard in reply...
