Usage:

Playing by Heart has plenty of potential and merit as long as you skip the movie and just watch the trailer. The cast is very talented, sporting names such as Sean Connery, Gena Rowlands, Jon Stewart, Gillian Anderson, Dennis Quaid, Anthony Edwards, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Phillipe. Producers must have expected that an ensemble of such famous actors would draw the crowds, although if often seems quite ridiculous that some of these beautiful people have not found dates in years. Also, the trailer displays every laugh-out-loud moment found in this romantic comedy in less than five minutes...

The story, written by director Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, has a handy way of faithfully returning to the bits of exposition and information dropped along the way. The drunken pilot (Randy Quaid) whom we see being teased early on for his supposed alien encounters eventually gets his just dues...

KINGPIN (July 12). One of three summer sport comedies, along with Eddie (Whoopi Goldberg as coach of the New York Knicks) and Tin Cup (Kevin Costner as a golfer). This one could be the Color of Money of bowling--former pro Woody Harrelson recruits Amish phenom Randy Quaid for a big payday. But the Farrelly brothers (Dumb & Dumber) ain't Scorsese. For a start, they have a fascination for prosthetic-hand gags; there are nine, just in the trailer. Rude and obvious. We laughed nine times...
