...single wherry scratch races of the Harvard Rowing Club were rowed yesterday afternoon on a quarter mile course from the Weld Boat House. A strong wind was blowing down stream and the tide was going out so that the races were rowed in very quick time. There were two preliminary heats of three men each. The first heat was started from the bridge at about 4.15 o'clock, the second following in about fifteen minutes. Both heats were well contested; the cold wind seemed to nerve the men up to their best work...
