Practically the same story may be told for the 220-yard dash. However, if W. A. Barron, Jr., '14, decides to enter this event after competing in the quarter mile, he probably will place. Heats in all track events except the mile and two-mile runs will be completed tomorrow. On Saturday, only the semi-finals of the two dashes and two hurdle races, and the finals of all other track events will remain. Nine men will enter the finals of the quarter. ...Cornell crews defeated the University and Freshman crews in two close and hard-fought races in the Basin yesterday afternoon. After being held in the boathouses for two hours by a heavy wind, the university crews started at about quarter of seven o'clock. Harvard had the better of the start, and quickly opened a three-quarter length lead; then when the stroke settled to 40 a minute for Harvard and 36 for Cornell, the University crew held its advantage as far as the Harvard Bridge. There Cornell had begun to creep up and soon passed Harvard, although still rowing...
Indications are that Harvard will finish high up in the standing with an outside chance for a victory. No points can be expected in the dashes, unless Barron elects to run them. Barron should win the quarter and both Bingham and Rock should take points in this event. Capper and Boyd will undoubtedly tally in the half and two mile runs, with Boyd having a good chance to win the latter. More points may be looked for in the hurdles, from the form Jackson has been showing lately. Johnstone, Camp and Sturgis should all score for Harvard, Johnstone in both...
