Princeton jumped to a quick 7-point lead with a victory in the 400 medley relay. Krause's 1000 freestyle win narrowed the score to 11-5. Harvard put together a second and third in the 200 freestyle with Cahalan's first place finish in the 50 freestyle to draw within 6 points of the Tigers. It was the closest Harvard would come.
