Harvard took the lead in the second inning when Clarkson made a two-base hit and was advanced to third base by Stephenson's single. Quigley then struck out, and Marshall hit to centre field who missed the ball, thus allowing Clarkson to score, Stephenson to reach third, and Marshall to get to second.
