There have been several unfortunate things, however, which have happened since that time to make the outlook decidedly less encouraging. The death of Coach Quinn was an inestimable loss to Harvard athletics, as those men who were closely connected with him well know. Upon consultation with the Graduate Treasurer of Athletics and J.B. Cummings '13. captain of the University track team, it was found that, contrary to reports in yesterday's papers, no definite steps have yet been taken in selecting a successor for the late W.E. Quinn. It is hoped, however, that satisfactory arrangements may soon be concluded...

Three years ago Coach Quinn while throwing the 56-pound weight, received abdominal injuries from which he never recovered. His condition became serious during the fall, and at the end of the track practice he went to Virginia for a short vacation. On his return to Cambridge he was taken to the Massachusetts General Hospital, but a month ago his physicians gave up hope of his recovery, and Quinn returned to his home. He declined steadily until his death yesterday morning
