Kappes would rejoin a CIA that has changed considerably since he quit in November 2004 after a management dispute with Porter Goss, Hayden's predecessor. Earlier in 2004, Kappes had suggested to Congress that the CIA boost overseas spy placement about 10% by 2010, says a person familiar with his proposal. But after Kappes said he was quitting, President Bush ordered a speedy 50% boost in the spy corps. And officials say that Goss, in his 18 months, increased postings abroad nearly 20% while opening or reopening nearly 30 CIA offices around the world...
Many career spooks are said to be thrilled by the symbolism of bringing back a man who stood up to the unpopular Goss, who quit last month. For two weeks he and his soldiers sat and waited in Aileu. Then, last Monday, he went to the hills east of Dili to investigate...

While Skilling was acquitted on nine charges of insider trading, he and Lay were also convicted on various other charges involving stock sales and audits. The 64-year-old founder faces up to 165 years of hard time; Skilling, 52, is up against...
...second paper. A month may pass before a woman even realizes she is pregnant. "If you want to drink and you are sexually active, the best thing to do is to use contraception," Caetano says. "That's what I say to my daughter." And the best time to quit drinking is from the moment you--and your partner--decide you would like to conceive a child...
