Boisson was not the only civil functionary to get the boot last week. In a surprise morning broadcast to his people, sandwiched in between the commercials and the canned music on Radio Monte Carlo, Prince Rainier III "temporarily" suspended Monaco's constitution and fired both the 18-man National Council and the Municipal Council. The 3,000 citizens and 18,000 foreign residents of the park-sized, 370-acre principality were warned that "public meetings of a political character" were banned...
Down deep, Monaco's blonde, serene Princess Grace is still just one of the girls. On a trip to Europe, reported strapping Olympic Sculler Champion Jack Kelly, he and some 22 of his crewmates dropped in on Sis and husband Prince Rainier, who put the crew up for the night, cheerfully hosted a hamburger broil, guzzled beer from the bottle with the boys. "She's still the same girl, a little more domesticated, but she fits in all right," reported Jack. "Her only trouble is that she doesn't speak French so well, but her husband speaks...

Last week the council denounced a royal decree that had set up a special administrative appeals tribunal, responsible only to the Prince. When the council began taking up constitutional reforms again, Rainier's court minister said he would have to leave. By a unanimous 18-to-0 vote, the council went on into its talk anyway, and the minister stalked out. Then the councilors passed a resolution demanding that women be given the right to vote and to run for the council. This was a particularly nasty blow for the Prince. As all Monaco knows. Princess Grace...
