Oceangoing yachts sport bulkhead-to-bulkhead carpeting and baby blue staterooms. New compact radar sets, depth-sounders and other electronic gear cram the cockpits. Pushbutton winches eliminate the need to "weigh" anchor. Hot-water heating, cold-water cooling, seawater evaporators and adapters for turning iceboxes into electric refrigerators lure the boat owner. ...finally been exposed to public view (see cuts)-the new Chrysler cars reflect a trend toward smoother lines. For the first time since 1957, the Imperial and Chrysler models have lost their once-lofty fins. The new Imperials have a sharp, straight rear fender line, the Chryslers a more rakish one that blends into a tapered rear deck. ...Hawaii, the urge to go native overcame Conductor Leonard Bernstein on his 42nd birthday, so he stripped down for action and conducted a seashore luau on the island of Maui. Clad only in a slit-to-hip malo and a rakish palm hat, Bernstein entertained his entire New York Philharmonic Orchestra, which was flown over to Maui after two concerts under Bernstein's baton in Honolulu. During the day the mellowing boy wonder of music went waterskiing, stuffed himself with poi and other Hawaiian goodies, planted a coconut tree and got a raft of gifts, including a pass exempting...
