Socred won 30 seats in the last election, 26 of these in the Province of Quebec. The French leader of the Ralliement des Creditistes is fiery Real Caouette, a car salesman from Rouyn-Noranda in northern Quebec. His cry to the French is, "You have nothing to lose.
