DIED The inspiration for Robert De Niro's character in Martin Scorsese's Casino, Frank (Lefty) Rosenthal ran four Las Vegas casinos in the 1970s and was labeled "the greatest living expert on sports gambling" by SPORTS ILLUSTRATED.
