...place--fourth in the high jump. Hawley and Sherman were not placed in the 100-yard dash, in which R. C. Foster '11 finished first. J. L. Barr '10 and W. M. Rand '09 outclassed the Dartmouth men entered in the pole-vault and 120-yard hurdles. In the recent trials for today's meet at Hanover, N. H., the two best performances were made in the two-mile run and the hammer-throw, in each of which the Dartmouth record was broken. Unfortunately Johnson in the hammer-throw has been disqualified on account of his studies. Walker...
...fourth dual track meet with Dartmouth will be held in the Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dartmouth has entered an exceptionally large number of men, and its team is strong and well developed, in spite of the recent unfavorable weather at Hanover. it has been agreed that only three entries shall be made by either team for the 100 and 220-yard dashes, in order to avoid running unnecessary trial heats...
...unfortunate that two University teams are playing at the same time on Soldiers Field this afternoon, for we should like to see the usual supporters of the baseball team at the lacrosse match with Columbia. Of recent years it has become the custom to speak rather disparagingly of lacrosse at Harvard, and to designate the members of the squad by an amusing but not particularly delicate title. It is hard to understand why this feeling exists at Cambridge, but it undoubtedly does exist, and it can only be done away with by the good record and the personnel...

He has been very prominent in the recent controversies in England over the "open church" question, and on account of his democratic tendencies. Canon Henson has just delivered a series of lectures at Yale on the "Lyman Beecher Foundation on Preaching...
...recent article and a communication in the Bulletin give evidence of the growing unpopularity of the hammer-throw. As pointed out there, the danger of accidents makes it necessary to hold the event at some remote point, with the result that the spectators at a meet seldom see what is going on. Naturally their interest in the outcome is not particularly great, and the number of participants shows that the event fails to interest many of the University athletes. It is suggested that the solution of the question lies in erecting a net in the Stadium, so that the hammer...
