Every undergraduate who at the end of the Christmas of spring recess fails to register at the time set for that purpose may be required to pay a fee of $5.00 before being permitted to do so. Payment of this fee does not preclude action by the Administrative Board in the cases of students who register late. No students, except, those who, living at a distance have been granted an extension of time at the end of the recess, are excused from any of their college appointments...

According to a list of vacations of the more prominent eastern colleges and universities, the University shares with Pennsylvania the distinction of having the shortest Christmas recess,--11 days. Wellesley has the longest, her vacation extending from December 16 to January 4, 20 days in all. Vassar is next with 19 days, closely followed by Yale and Dartmouth with 18 days apiece.
