In a recent address to the undergraduates President Harper stated that the faculty, after due consideration, are strongly opposed to secret fraternities and recommend that none be organized in the university. This is not a ruling of the faculty, they do not prohibit such fraternities, but they leave it to the good sense of the undergraduates to decide the question for themselves...

However admirable is the spirit which prompted the head of the Fine Arts Department to recommend a postponement of the erection of the proposed building, we cannot overlook certain reasons which seem to us to outweigh his objections.
