...midnight Borat screening, can be a buzz-builder if the celeb plays it right. Sacha Baron Cohen, who had arrived at the screening in character on a woman-peasant-drawn carriage, recovered nicely when the film stopped just 10 minutes in; Cohen apologized and explained that the film reel was pieced together with the best Kazakhstani horse glue. The screening had to be rescheduled, but it did its job - the Borat character had a memorable coming out documented in hundreds of media outlets...

...Rush Hour is... OK. Brett Ratner, who directed the first two episodes (as well as the third X-Men and the Hannibal Lecter movie Red Dragon), isn't out to win an Oscar here; the movie is as lacking in visual elegance as it is in pretension. Its first reel or two sets a fairly low bar for the viewer, so that when it perks up it exceeds expectations. ...family bought the Wigwam Motel in Rialto, Calif., four years ago, the iconic Route 66 property was rundown. Its stucco teepees, built in the 1930s by Kentucky motor-inn visionary Frank Redford, had been frequented by drug addicts and prostitutes because the Wigwam's previous owners tried to reel in customers with a cheesy sign urging them to DO IT IN A TEE PEE.
