MacMillan & Company have recently published a new philosophical work by Dr. Benjamin Rand. It is entitled "The Life, Unpublished Letters and Philosophical Regimen of Anthony, Earl of Shaftesbury." The book is the result of years of investigation among old English manuscripts. Dr. Rand considers Shaftesbury the greatest of modern stoies and his philosophy as the strongest expression of stoicism since the days of Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius.
