...regard to the race appointed to have been rowed between Columbia and Harvard on July 3, at New London. We also wish to express our complete disapproval of the course pursued by the Harvard crew in regard to the above race. And, finally, we wish to express our deep regret for the injustice that has been done the Columbia crew, and our sincere hope that the pleasant relations heretofore existing between Harvard and Columbia may continue unbroken in the future...

...crew, arrived at New Haven this week from Europe, and is at present giving the crew some valuable aid in the coaching line. The old coach, Wood, has been unable to give his attention to the boating interests this year, and his absence has been a cause of regret to the whole college. It is expected, however, that he will coach them during their training at New London. They leave for their headquarters on the Thames River next Thursday. The race occurs one week from the following Friday...
