...general, the “Picture” version of the show features a cast that imitates the movie gesture for gesture. However, the live version certainly does have freer reign to be creative with the material, and it takes advantage of this freedom. I, personally, did not feel like I was watching something completely new, but the live visual stimulation felt different enough that I didn’t mind not screaming out the lines (Though, more accurately, I may have whispered them). The cast looked their parts and seemed to thrive on the sexy silliness...
...Uganda's independence from Britain in 1962 and the country's first postcolonial prime minister; in Johannesburg, South Africa. The savvy, but ultimately despotic, politician, who tried unsuccessfully to unite Uganda's factionalized parties, was overthrown in 1971 by his military aide, Idi Amin. After Amin's brutal reign, Obote regained power in 1980, but an allegedly rigged election and his repressive rule led to his ouster and exile to Zambia...
...very concept of "black Victorians" may surprise. There had, of course, been Africans in Britain long before Victoria ascended the throne in 1837, but in the 19th century they were a familiar sight - not that you'd know that from most accounts of the old Queen's reign. "The government is only Kurdish and Iranian, it is not a Sunni or Shi'ite government." Many Sunnis, who benefited under Saddam's reign, regard the Shi' ites in government as pawns of Iran because politicians such as Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari spent the war in exile in Iraq's neighbor. Aga also had little faith in a fair vote and said the government would fix the election in its favor. "They just want...
...believe Gray and Wolf make the error of assuming that (the) only way to create self-directed graduates is to allow students to direct their own studies.” This misses the ENTIRETY of my argument. I do not believe that students should be allowed free reign to direct their studies. I believe that students should be encouraged to design their own courses of study in the context of a nurturing and challenging relationship with an adviser or mentor. Students are not free to take the easiest route for they must gain the approval of a faculty...
