Miss Anna W. Pennypacker, daughter of the late Samuel W. Pennypacker (onetime [1903-07] Governor of Pennsylvania), was arrested when police raided a meeting of the Workers' International Relief in Philadelphia. Released the next morning she said: "I went to the meeting because I was interested. I would not have believed it possible that this could have happened in Philadelphia, the cradle of liberty.
