...World Health Organization (WHO) and other global health bodies are working to remind us of that fact. On March 31 the American Public Health Association (APHA) launched its first blueprint for combating the health impacts of climate change, and on April 7, WHO will dedicate its annual World Health Day to the intersection between disease and global warming. The message is that severe climate change could fundamentally weaken global public health, that doctors need to be ready to deal with the consequences - and that there is a moral case to be made for reducing carbon emissions to save future lives...

...better athlete, Tiger Woods or Derek Jeter? -Brendan Ripp, Wilton, Conn.Well, they remind me of each other. Of course I had Derek, and then when I met Tiger for the first time I looked in his eyes and I had a very familiar sight. It just looked like hunger for the top position, and I don't think there's anybody in better shape than Tiger Woods. I think he could probably play any sport he wants to. I can't say that to Derek even though Derek has a special presence on a ball club...

...some months now, the authorities have been putting up giant billboards counting down to the Commonwealth Games - presumably to get Delhi-ites enthused about them. The billboards' more important function, however, may be to remind those responsible for preparing the city for this showcase event that time is running...
